You’ve seen them reviewed on video and on MotorTrend.com — now we finally have pricing information at the 2013 Subaru Impreza WRX and WRX STI Special Editions. Impossible to overlook with their orange and black paint jobs, the 2013 WRX and WRX STI special editions will carry prices of $29,565 and $35,565 respectively.

For $500 over the 2013 Subaru Impreza WRX Premium trim, the special edition gets you tons of visual upgrades plus exclusivity: just 200 WRX special-edition sedans would be made, and 100 WRX STI special-edition sedans. Including destination, the $29,565 price includes the Premium trim’s power moonroof, heated front seats, and fog lights plus — obviously — a five-speed manual transmission and a turbocharged 265-hp 2.5-liter flat-four engine. In our First Test, the auto accelerated from 0-60 mph in 4.7 seconds and back from 60-0 mph in 106 feet — and that’s just the WRX model.

Both cars receive the orange paint, in addition to contrasting black wheels, side mirrors, and exterior graphics. inside, you’ll find the orange color at the seat stitching, doors, and shift boot, with orange-trimmed floor mats, too.

The $35,565 2013 Subaru Impreza WRX STI builds at the base STI model since there isn’t a Premium trim. We don’t think STI customers will complain — all STIs get a 305-hp turbocharged engine, six-speed manual transmission, Brembo brakes, and driver-controllable suspension settings.

The 2013 WRX and WRX STI special editions are a bright sendoff to the present body style, that is soon to get replaced by a sporty sedan and 4-door hatch in keeping with the regular-strength 2013 Subaru Impreza. While it’s too early to understand how a higher-gen Subaru Impreza WRX will perform, one thing’s definitely: fuel economy will improve. The 2013 WRX is EPA-rated at 19/25 mpg city/highway, when compared with the STI’s 17/23 mpg and the manual-transmission new Impreza’s 25/34 mpg.
