The short clip encompasses a red R8 V10 Plus showing off its revised and sexy sheetmetal in conjunction with its sweet-sounding V-10 that puts out 550 hp and 391 lb-ft of torque (the background music is tolerable). The video also points out a couple of key features of the variety- topping R8, like its all-LED headlights, lightweight chassis, and trick sequential rear turn signals. Most significantly, the video mentions the R8’s new gearbox, a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic that senior features editor Jonny Lieberman recently sampled and located to be a “brilliant transmission.”

As Lieberman stated in his review, the R8 V10 Plus replaces the R8 V10 GT, which produced 560 hp (we predict another GT to seem in a couple of year). The updated R8 will still be offered with a V-8 engine (430 hp and 317 lb-ft) and the “normal” V-10, which produces 525 hp and 391 lb-ft.
